Communication With The Divine
Prayer is the contemplation of the facts of life from the highest point of view. Prayer is the soliloquy of a beholding and jubilant soul. It is the Spirit of God pronouncing His works good. But prayer as a means of effecting a private end is theft and meanness. It presupposes dualism and not unity in nature and consciousness. As soon as a man is at one with God he does not beg. He then sees prayer in all action.

Prayer is our spiritual approach to God. Through prayer we hold the idea of Truth in consciousness until it is revealed in the manifest realm. By unifying our consciousness with Divine Mind, we connect with that Truth of our being that releases us from the necessity of suffering and struggle.
In our world today, we are bombarded with the images of lack, fear, discontent and suffering. How do we maintain a steady consciousness of Truth when what is before us can so easily distract us from what we know or believe?
By remembering that our personal experience of God is not "out there" but within us. If we make a commitment to a daily practice of prayer and meditation, we can fortify ourselves from the outer distractions that pull us out of the World of Divine Truth and more and more into the World of Humanity.
During these challenging times, when it is so easy to be caught up in the problems of the outer world, we might use this affirmation as our mantra to help us return within where the real solution exists:
The Power within me is always greater than the challenges before me
Spend some time in prayer and meditation, stilling the mind in the midst of the chaos swirling around you, bringing your challenges to God and allowing God to speak with you and provide you with the perfect route that takes you through this time of despair with ease and grace.

PRAYER FOR HAITI
Dear God, we do not always understand your ways but we understand your love. When something happens like the earthquake in Haiti, we sometimes question that love as we ask "how?" and "why?" but God hope sustains us even when our faith gets shaky. So, we don't understand what happened in Haiti and we don't know why, but we know that you are there and that your love is the one true comfort and hope for our beloved brothers and sisters there as they deal with their loss and their grief. May their loving spirit and strong faith help them hold on to the knowledge that they will get through this and although things won't be the same, they will be good again. We pray for the those who made their transition, knowing they have completed their journey. We pray for all of the thousands of generous people from around the world who have gone there to help and for those who are on their way. We pray in gratitude for the millions of people who have and will donate to the relief effort. We see our sister country, Haiti, strong again, vibrant and thriving. Thank you God for always hearing our prayers and we know they have already been answered. Amen
PRAYER FOR OUR PRESIDENT
God, you have chosen this man Barack Obama to guide us through this era in these United States of America and we thank you. Now, he needs your love, guidance and direction more than ever before. Keep close watch over 
him. Comfort him when he gets discouraged. Carry him when his load gets too heavy. Refresh and revitalize him when he gets weary. Surround him with your angels and archangels, so that “not even his foot may dash against the stone.” Stand with him and fortify him when he must face our enemies, but allow him to face them with love and remember that they are also your children. When he has a tough decision to make, popular or not, give him the courage to do what he knows is right and for the good of the many. Bless him, bless his family. Keep them safe and regardless of what is going on in the White House or in the World, let them continue to experience joy. Thank you for the hope that is tangible, the possibility that is palpable and the bright future that is evident. Amen
A PRAYER FOR OUR NATION & OUR WORLD
Dear Lord, we are in the midst of great turmoil upon this planet. Our house is divided and the walls are crumbling. We are so caught up in fear and in being right, that we are so unhappy. We have placed all our trust in things that cannot help us and no longer serve us. We think we're alone and on our own. Right now, Dear Lord, send a gentle touch upon our hearts
to remind us that no matter what is going on, you are still God and have this situation under control. Help us to be willing to see the perfection in all of this. Remind us that you are never more than a breath away. Guide us to a place of love and forgiveness and teach us to love ourselves when we fall short. We place this nation and all of the world in your care and keeping. We bless every man, woman, child, animal, tree, plant and blade of grass. We bless our leaders. May they remember that, in their elected roles of responsibility, the good of the many outweigh the good of the few. Bless Barak Obama, Joe Biden, the new cabinet and their families. Regardless of whether we were for them or against them as our candidates, they are your sons and daughters in whom you are well pleased and, therefore, our brothers and sisters. Help us to open our hearts and find a way to be of support to our new government leaders. Forgive us our errors as we forgive the errors of others. Help us to turn a deaf ear to those who would instill within us needless fear and cause us to attack one another. For if you are for us, what can ever work against us? Forgive those whose hatred and anger run so deep that they would wish harm upon our President. Help us to realize that they are only speaking and acting from the pain within them. Open their hearts to a better way of expressing and healing their pain. May we rise above our petty conflicts and perceived differences so that this nation and this world will be elevated to its divine power and magnificence. We are blessed because we are the expressions of your love in action. May we live that Truth daily. In You we trust, for there is nothing else that will sustain us. We are eternally grateful. Amen

We are a prosperous nation. We have all that we need, to do all that we need to do. There is no lack or limitation. God is our Source and God is still providing. We are abundantly blessed.
